Nice to see devs taking feedback from reviews to heart.

I really appreciate the preview you managed to pull on Borderlands 4 performance woes in such short time frame. Not sure that Randy will...

Looking at the state of things I still can't fathom how big of a moron one has to be to believe in "trickle down economics" and naivete that corporations will ever do anything other than push for maximum profit.

Corporations and disgustingly rich should be taxed as aggressively as possible.

Can't wait to play DS2 and pick up a quest from Max Madman, modeled after ShillUp and voiced by Ben Starr doing awful Australian accent.

Those were using standard Steam DRM, and I'm using the term DRM with Christlike generosity. An equivalent of using a cheeto as your door lock.

There are games that can release without DRM at all and still sell tens of millions of copies. Not saying this one will, but PC gamers buy their games too.

Sadly w10 is still used in around 60% of all windows PCs, and I suspect quite substantial number of those can't use win11 due to missing TPM2.0 etc.

So in 10 months we might face even bigger cyberdecurity issue: millions of PC running unsupported OS.

Unless it's a soda with refreshing PvE taste and moment to moment gameplay that can be more cinematic that many cutscenes in other games.

In order to punch through they need to offer something new, have a good timing and a shit ton of luck.

I find MSFT cutting Win10 support short while Win11 is such a clusterfuck extremely baffling.

only thing missing is early access

Yeah, I would not put much weight on armchair experts from reddit.

Elden Ring release convinced me of one thing: they can gaslight themself into thinking that any subpar performance is acceptable as long as they like the game enough.

Bow wow wow

Not only that, as I mentioned it's more of the same game, just new map, equipment etc. It just rubs me the wrong way to have expansion as "Game of the Year".

But as Raplh said, judges decided it was ok so it's a contender for GOTY and that's it.
November 19, 2024 at 1:01 AM
I'd argue no. Both are whole separate games not requiring previous game, both heavily improve on the predessor.

Jus like I think ppl saying that "ToTK" was just an expansion we're full of it.

In my opinion, no.

Elden Ring deserved every win it got in 2022. But SotE is more (exceptionally good more) of the same with some improvements, just like Phantom Liberty was more of the very good Cyberpunk with improvements after the 2.0 patch.

I am fully aware. And I will have no issues with Shadow of the Erdtree if it wins best RPG.
November 19, 2024 at 12:21 AM
I'm voting that Blood and Wine be retroactively presented with GOTY for 2016.
November 19, 2024 at 12:12 AM
I can agree basically with every nomination but having DLC/Expansion as a GOTY contender feels out of place.

Ok, so now I can see that both you and Lucy are active here on bsky. Can you please convince my man Jake to switch from the cesspool as well so my FPS podcast crew is all here?
