I'm only days away from sending off my manuscript to my publisher. Nervous. I and 5 other people (smart ones) have been through it several times. Lots of changes, rewrites, and tightening. When will I know it's ready? How do you know when your baby is ready to fly?

I'm (hopefully)on the final pass of edits and rewrites on my current WIP. Kathryn Stockett's THE HELP was rejected 60 times. It took her 5 years to complete. She kept working, perfecting her craft and the book. I don't want to spend 5 years on this, but it deserves my best.

I'll be promoting my Western Historical, A New York Lady In Helldorado, at the Tombstone Festival of Western Books on March 13. I hope to see you there! Worth the trip, I guarantee.

New year tasks to do are always and forever a pain: Tax reports, toss the clutter, update pricing on my books (need to make a profit, for Pete's sake), order supplies, schedule appointments, shop for a new printer - and so it goes. Not to mention working on the WIP - NOW! 😒

Today, October 26, 1881, Wyatt, Morgan, and Virgil Earp, plus Doc Holliday, were in a 30-second shootout in Tombstone with 3 cowboys (aka rustlers, thieves), who
were killed. Read my book, A New York Lady In Helldorado. vcwilliamsauthor.com/books/a-new-...

Today is World Bread day! What's your favorite?
Mine - any kind, fresh from the oven with butter melting and dripping into every crevice. I prefer crusty crust. Bring a napkin.😉

There is a growing movement today that advocates for women to return to their traditional roles of homemaking and child-rearing. It's an honorable and important role, but unrealistic today, where traditional families require at least 2 incomes to keep food on the table. What do you think?

In prep mode for another series of book signings in September. I have event notices posted on Nextdoor for the local crowd, as well as advertisements in the local paper, which most of my potential buyers read. I've got books to sell! Want one? vcwilliamsauthor.com

Despite a background in technical writing, I love writing fiction about strong women. I'm descended from strong Pioneer Women who worked alongside their fathers, brothers, or husbands on farms in Texa...

Read my memories of Gibraltar, the British territory guarding the Straits between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
GIBRALTAR AND WHERE I GOT TOUGH
During our 2018 Moroccan trip, we took the train from London to Paris and then to Barcelona. But when we arrived at Gibraltar, an English-speaking British territory, I had to reveal my talons for the first time. It's a bit of a story, so sit back and enjoy the read. After visiting Barcelona, we realized our timeline would force us to zip through the rest of Spain with one short overnight stop in Madrid.

I am learning a lot of history about my hometown as I research for my current WIP, set mainly in 1907. How much do you know about your hometown's history? It's always fascinating! Do you use familiar history in your stories? #Booksky

I'm preparing for the White Mountain Festival of Books in Show Low, AZ, 8/9/25. At 6,345 ft high, I'll be dragging my portable oxygen. My O2 levels drop when I sleep. 😅 But the festival will still be great! Can't wait to meet new people and share author stories.

I just finished and scheduled my latest author newsletter. My results have been lackluster, so I added a survey to find out what it needs, a book review, and a free chapter from my almost finished WIP. I deleted the survey (agghh!) so had to rebuild it. This grief better be worth it! #booksky
