This was never about winning a battle. It was about sending a message.

The Dems looked weak but the GOP was exposed as the monsters they are for how much they're willing to hurt the country for their own gain.

I'd rather be run by weaklings than monsters, wouldn't you?

We can always review ACA when we win the midterms and yes we will win them. Now if they kick the can down the road again, and we still get nothing from a second shutdown, THEN I'll start worrying.

This sucks. But it's a setback not a loss. The GOP knows we are willing to fight dirty now.

Consider this: the compromise funds SNAP through all of 2026 but the government through January. The ACA subsidies would have been too late to implement by the time we got them if the shutdown continued.

Wouldn't it be so much better to try this again when SNAP isn't able to be used as a weapon?

You know why doesn't someone just shoot the guy?

This also sets precedent - anything about civil rights with similar arguments to Obergefell is probably safe.

It seems SCOTUS only wants to destroy the things that were their pet projects to destroy. That being Roe and the VRA. Not good, but we can work around both.

No. I'm trying to say that High mobility Killers shouldn't get basekit tools like this and we need something MORE than basekit BBQ for low mobility Killers - like basekit pain res.

Tunnelling Blight.

Did you need the reminder?

It's actually not. As I explained the other day, she issued that stay so that Trump cannot use emergency acts of court to push through his agenda as instant law. She made the right call.

In all cases the Dems are letting the GOP hang themselves. It's just going to also cause collateral. Always was.
November 10, 2025 at 1:23 PM
The GOP was always trying to spin this as a Dem shutdown. But we KNOW that's not what happened, and in doing so after the shutdown ends they will seal their political fate as doomed. The GOP has temper tantrums. The Dems have Mamdani.

How do I know it was a political game?

This is exactly how the GOP rose to power.

Justice never comes quick. And now, they have to do several things: swear that AZ rep in. Vote on the files. Oh, and it for a lot of Dem senators incensed enough to DEMAND Schumer be replaced as minority speaker.

There was no scenario where the GOP agreed to anything the Dems said. Ever, never was. They WOULD have kept things shuttered permanently and let people starve.

This was not a Democrat loss or betrayal. This was a dangerous but calculated political game. Now we all know EXACTLY who to blame.
November 10, 2025 at 12:26 PM
There was no scenario where the GOP was NOT going to destroy ACA. There just wasn't. They showed they were going to keep the government possibly shut down permanently. They couldn't have held things up forever.

The shutdown worked. It did its job by laying all the responsibility at the GOP's feet.

Now granted I WAS paying $0. I don't like now having to pay $35. But that's like... really acceptable for insurance. Cheap even.

The Morrigan Provides, I guess?

Tease you? Never.

It's fact. His lips and fingers are turning pale and blue. He's clearly had several strokes. He's slurring words.

He is not long for this world. I don't know if Americans need to push him out so much as wait him out.
