“We honor her memory by living her values: rejecting hate and choosing compassion, turning away from fear and pursuing peace, refusing division and knowing we must come together to build a world where we all come home safe to the people we love.”
"I am now left to raise our son and to continue teaching him, as Renee believed, that there are people building a better world for him. That the people who did this had fear and anger in their hearts, and we need to show them a better way." www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

Whoever or whatever at Netflix is in charge of episode thumbnails should have a simple rule: the very last shot of an episode should NEVER be the episode thumbnail! And yet!!

I continue to not be able to watch a video without it freezing up 20 seconds in. Incredibly frustrating stuff.
Incredible progress has been made with the video service on this app: Now the videos aren’t even making it halfway through before they freeze. And another fun new development: The frozen videos now lock up the whole app so I have to close the app and reopen it rather than just close the video. Cool!
I would love to be able to watch one video on this site without it freezing halfway through. It’s every single video now. So annoying, so consistent

In one of the most appalling developments of past day, Elon Musk's AI chatbot desecrated Renee Nicole Good's body. That's in addition to harassing women and sexually exploiting minors. By @katieherchenroeder.bsky.social

Just another day where I get physically ill with anger from reading the news

Dog owner walking a tiny little puppy around off leash right next to a parking lot. Just so damn irresponsible. What is with the urge to walk your dog around off leash anyway? Does it make these guys feel like a ranger with an animal companion or something? It just feels so lazy and selfish to me.

I know the stuff that comes out of this man’s mouth is just background noise, but the president saying “they should cancel the election” on January 6 of all days really, really, really feels like it should be a monumental story. But the people in charge of our news media won’t even bat an eye at it.
Trump: "They have the worst policy. How we have to even run against these people -- I won't say cancel the election, they should cancel the election, because the fake news with say, 'He wants the elections canceled. He's a dictator.' They always call me a dictator. Nobody is worse than Obama."

Not handing it to MTG of all people should be the easiest test in the world. We know her, we know who she is, we know what she stands for. Letting her into “the big tent” will benefit nobody except MTG. Do not fall for an obvious grifter’s obvious grift! It’s truly so easy!!And yet!!!

Titan A.E. was pretty good! I liked the setting a lot, great locations throughout and honestly it felt like great pacing for an animated sci fi adventure. Shame about the two lead voice actors being terrible fits for their characters. I like Damon, I love Barrymore, but NOT for those roles

My puppy has the cone of shame on her head and I can’t help but laugh every time she knocks into something with it. Joke’s on me though because my little puppy has taken to ramming the back of my knees with the cone, a sensation I do not love

My most memorable experience remains Inglourious Basterds. I saw it with my Dad in a rowdy theater full of teens at the tail end of summer. Loud talking and laugher through the previews, into the opening credits. And the absolute silence midway through the farm scene as we all locked in. Magnifique
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.
