And, although the article is not about Agentic AI, how might Agentic AI make us better navigate a world like that?

No.

It took me some searching but the screenshot is from a New Yorker article by Swiss-American @atossaaraxia.bsky.social. I am curious how the Swiss ought to be described then.

Please consider working with an editor. The prose is so hermetic and inaccessible in its language that you risk missing a potential much larger audience.

In general, about 15% of traffic to news sites comes from social media and that number is declining.
Dutch newspaper @nrc.nl report today that it was less than 10% for the traffic to their site.

NRC newspaper in the Netherlands (as reported today): In November, social media brought less than ten percent of readers to nrc.nl. Facebook and LinkedIn are the most important, with X not exceeding one percent.

Frankly, I got tired of people on Bluesky urging individuals to leave X. So I looked at the numbers. It is very clear that the media need to leave X, and then their readers (who are defined as "followers") will indeed follow. Alas there are no European alternatives, particularly for the young.

When it comes to news, here are the "followers" data for some key European news outlets (56 in all in 8 countries).
