My favorite thing about Rival Turf is that it let both players choose the same character in 2 player games. Oozie Nelson is easy mode. Jack Flak is hard mode. Both modes won’t do you wrong.

Of the four games shown here, Nobunaga’s Ambition (SNES) is the least complex. So if you’re completely new to this type of strategy game, you should start there.

The one that captured my heart the most is Romance of the Three Kingdoms VII. I love creating my own character, starting from the corner of the map, and rewriting history.
