The rest of the world doesn’t understand why citizens are not resisting in a meaningful way. Countries with much less experience of a democratic framework and norms are out protesting every day in huge numbers as freedom is as important as life itself.

However bizarre this will sound, I have been of the belief that this performance needs to be played out. For the reason that otherwise bitterness will continue to fester for longer at greater cost than lancing the boil sooner.

I can only manage 5 minutes of Fox. Even then I am shouting at the TV. So much delusion. And I am not in the US so have a wider variety of news.
