#yousoundfamiliar While given a guideline on the directions and what is to be expected, I was still nervous going into this self-interview because I truly didn't know how the AI was going to "hit" me. That is to say, how much will the AI breakdown what I say to trigger my need for a self-reflection-

#realityhunger [Chap. e] Finally got to see Shields voice out his desire for books to equal that of our complex reality and experiences in which traditional writing fails to capture. I think this holds even truer now, which I expressed in a previous post of mine. But I also don't want to invalidate-

#realityhunger Okay, as informative and intriguing the points he makes are, I just cannot read some of the sentences correctly on the first try. OML am I the problem for being unable to read correctly and having to reread it 7 times until I get it down?!?!? 😭😭😭

#realityhunger [Chap. e] When he talked about music in section 125 I audibly gasped because he sounded both profound and unserious to me 😂 But he's preaching, because music is about understanding it sometimes, it's just the vibes and rhythm pulling people together to create a bonding experience!!-

#realityhunger [Chap. e] What's fact and what's a lie, he asks... I guess if you really think about it, that's a loaded question to answer because when it doesn't come to like actual scientific stuff (and even then you could still argue against that), everything else we see as fact stem from human-

#realityhunger [Chap. d] Shields stance on plagiarism is interesting to me because he says he doesn't feel the guilt that is normally attached to plagiarism which might be in reference to how he's been including other artists and writers' works in the book. In the context he's thinking of, I have-

#realityhunger [Chap. d] This example is so funny to read aloud, but also kind of... raw? Unfiltered? And wow, I did not imagine there to be curse words. I can relate to this as someone who dabbles in writing occasionally where I think to myself a scenario first and then I just condense it into a-

#realityhunger [Chap. d] Saying "a train of lies" gives me the impression that it's saying once you start to believe, it's hard to stop. This section does kinda hit me though because what I see and feel in my reality are the truth TO ME even if it's not present in other people's reality. I don't-

#realityhunger [Chap. c] The chapter title made me chuckle, but then I read it and was like "wait... that's a good point." Cuz he's right, the traditional forms of literature that we've been taught don't reflect our current reality, because those are linear and structured. Meanwhile, our modern-

#realityhunger [Chap. b] These sections are reinforcing my thoughts that this chapter is focused on the history of writings, more specifically how people imitate and represent reality in the form of literature. To call these sort of things as techniques makes it sound... sophisticated? Calculated?-

#realityhunger [Chap. b] I wonder if Shields felt somewhat inspired by Plutarch's decision using numbered sections. Plutarch's intentions was to have readers interpret the bullets on their own without guidance or influence... Is Shields trying to mimic that with the readers of this book as well? :0

#realityhunger [Chap. b] Interestingly, Shields continues the pattern of manipulating the numbered sections sizes, but this time they get bigger. Every section describes a new point in time in regards to the history of writings. Seems to me he wants to emphasize that stories are retellings of the-

#realityhunger [Chap. a] This stuck out to me because the numbered sections got smaller towards the end, which signifies to me that Shields wanted to emphasize something here. Seems to me the main takeaway from this is that even if there's no first-person established, the book you're reading-

#realityhunger [Chap. a] I agree with Shields that reality and fiction are blurring to the point that it's almost unrecognizable where the distinction is between the two. It's both an alluring and dangerous concept to me, because to allow 'my' reality to become the 'world's' reality kinda opens up-

#realityhunger [Chap. a] It's a little overwhelming with how fast he jumps from one media to the next, but I also believe it was necessary for him to list out all these examples as well. I suppose it really goes to show how much of the media that we consume are staged yet despite knowing that, we-

#realityhunger Read the introduction, and the reviewer's praise of the book from how astounded, but life-changing he sounds really got me interested now in what I'll be throwing myself into when I read the book for myself.

#atmospherestudy I could totes play around with how I speak to invoke certain emotions in the listener. There's def tactics and methods out there to use to achieve such, and it's kind of exciting cuz I've only ever been the listener. Now, I get to be the creator 😝
February 9, 2026 at 4:44 AM
#atmospherestudy I guess something that the audio did to me that I wouldn't notice initially was that, when the composition of the sounds were... becoming more abstract, I just accepted it for what it was. I'd like to think I've always been pretty open-minded, but I can admit I'd be judgmental-

#atmospherestudy (8:00) was unsettling but also expected, because while the sudden noises were loud and instantaneous, the combination of the narrator's soft voice and well-timed moments made me anticipate that something was going to happen. It may have hit the same way if visuals were involved-

#knickerbockerglory questionable poetry, slow build up, and then BAM sudden noises and screaming (of terror???? joy???) why did it actually make me jump in my seat?

#hwa2 #dangerous I suppose one way that I am already becoming dangerous is noticing patterns and the underlying tones of how media is expressed to us. As I become more aware of media and even myself, the better my opportunities are to question the norm rather than just follow things blindly.

#hwa2 #donetome The reading made me more self-aware of how much time I spend on my phone, and that realization helps to snap me out of my trance.

#hwa2 #whatmcluhanwants McLuhan wants us to stop thinking in parts because he wants to prevent us from only thinking about the content. He's only anti-fragmentation, meaning he wants us to actually analyze and understand the forces that shape us.
