As the Danish report says it look like russia might start a war with a NATO land within five year or so. Military help to ukraine, with boots on the ground, might prevent having it when russia is strong.

If the US abandons NATO, it is at least a good thing that it happens when Russia is weakened. Then there are at least some time to build a replacement.
