i will never understand how my dad actively chose middle grades as his teaching life and LOVED it. you've gotta be made of different stuff to go to middle school every day for 20 years.

quarters vs. semesters screws up the timing of our summer internship program - quarter kids sometimes have to miss orientation and/or leave work a week early. it's also why our intern orientation and the beloved's birthday will always overlap. sigh.
