Got it, then yeah maybe descriptions of their expressions that would be hard for the player to “read” from just a sprite

Or depending on the style of narration if the player’s character’s thoughts are written that could help flesh it out by telling the vibe they get from this character

Depending on what the text is for, you could do something like Dark Souls item descriptions which give some extra context and leave a bit for the imagination to fill in

Basically telling both a little of the obvious and then leaving some little clues for the player to interpret

This feels like it should burn me out quicker but it almost has the opposite effect for me where I can keep forward momentum when I would otherwise just stare at the screen wondering what to do next, even though there’s no shortage of things to do

I just have the setting turned on so that I can’t post without doing it, because if I’m honest I am lazy and I know that if I didn’t have that checked I would absolutely skip it each time

but I also realize the importance of it and do want to, so this way I have to do it lol

Nice! Inventories are one of the most surprisingly difficult things, I still haven’t gotten mine working properly
