A constituent reached out for help after he tried to get his deceased father’s final refund for tax year 2023. I was happy to step in, and after providing the necessary documentation, the agency sent him a refund of nearly $8,000. I'm proud to help constituents get their money back from the IRS.

The proposed changes to Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will force families to make impossible choices between a roof over their head and keeping their benefits. That’s why I joined my colleagues in urging Social Security Commissioner Bisignano reconsider these changes.

I joined several of my colleagues in introducing the No Unauthorized Force in Venezuela Act to stress the importance of upholding the law and using the facts prior to any military action.

The Administration's tariff policy is raising the cost of groceries, including your favorite pasta and spaghetti. Congress must take back its authority over tariffs to bring down costs for working families.

Embarrassingly, too many servicemembers experience food insecurity, especially with the recent uncertainty around SNAP benefits. I led a bipartisan group to make changes to the Basic Needs Allowance so that servicemembers don’t have to choose between a roof over their head or food on the table.

Great to meet with constituents to discuss the importance of a strong U.S.-Ukrainian relationship. I am committed to ensuring that Ukraine has the resources it needs to push back against Russian aggression and defend its democracy.

A student athlete reached out to me when his visa was delayed just one week before his classes began. Within 48 hours of reaching out to the US Embassy, I secured his visa so that he could attend class on time. If you are experiencing delays after applying for a visa, contact me for assistance.

The current rules written for the BNA means too many servicemembers have to choose btwn keeping a roof over their head and putting food on the table. I led a bipartisan letter to ensure servicemembers no longer have to make that impossible choice. It’s our responsibility to serve those who serve us.

When a local veteran reached out to me for help securing his separation documents from the National Guard, I was able to expedite his request. I’m always happy to assist veterans and constituents with any issues that you may have with any federal bureaucracies.

Now that the shutdown is over, it's time for both sides and both Houses of Congress to get back to the negotiating table. I joined a bipartisan group that called on the Senate to include the House in the Senate negotiations on the ACA Tax Credits.

No servicemember in CA-19 or across the country should be going hungry. I led a bipartisan group in Congress to make sure critical measures to help servicemembers and their families put food on the table are included in this year's NDAA. It's our responsibility to serve those who serve us.

Affordability remains the top issue for CA-19, and I won’t stop finding federal solutions to reduce the cost of living. Canceling ACA tax credits will only increase costs. I stand united with my colleagues in the House, and we will continue to fight for affordable healthcare for our constituents.

A great visit to see the new kitchen at the Paso Robles Youth Arts Center’s culinary program and meet some of the young people that will benefit from this project. So nice to see programs that invest in our next generation of leaders and thinkers.

Recently met with a constituent who is working to connect college students to our democratic process. These efforts are important, and I look forward to continuing my work to ensure that young people stay connected to our communities and democracy.

Always good to meet with our local Cattleman’s Association, the largest one in California, to discuss the issues confronting our beef producers, including this administration’s plan to increase Argentinian beef imports. So proud to represent and fight for all of our many communities in CA-19.

Keeping our government working for the American people is a bipartisan issue. That’s why I co-authored the Prevent Government Shutdowns Act so shutdowns are a thing of the past. Now more than ever, we need bipartisan negotiations to reopen the government and lower costs for working families.

Recently met with a constituent to discuss the needs of educators in California's 19th Congressional District. After this Administration's attempts to dismantle the Department of Education, we must stand together to ensure that our students have the support they need for success.

Always good to meet with local farmers to hear about the challenges that they face from food safety to tariffs to labor issues and more. Even better when we work together to find solutions to help them continue their work as the best producers in the world to ensure our food security.
