a message from me to my supervisor saying: I've been trying to figure out what to say all week but I really want to find a way get better and get faster but I don't know how to do that. I'm trying so, so hard but I feel like I'm drowning and I just don't know what to do. Like you said, it was a simple site plan and it shouldn't have taken long but I've been struggling so much and working insane hours trying to figure it out. I'm trying so, so hard and I so badly want to get better but I just don't know how to do that a message from my supervisor back to me saying: I appreciate you bringing this to me.  We can see from the email timestamps that you have been working extra hours to get work completed, which shows great responsibility and task ownership, however this comes at the cost of work/life balance and project budget. We have been sensing that you are struggling a bit with the tasks and workload lately, and would like to find a way to provide assistance to help you reach your potential. There is certainly a disconnect somewhere in the workflow, and we will need to figure out together exactly what that is so we can help you progress.  I am going to set up a meeting for this afternoon for us to chat.

this was how i decorated my dorm room door freshman year!!
the front door to a dorm room decorated to look like a fire place using construction paper. there is striped red, green, and tan wrapping paper at the top and then a line of toilet paper rolls. then green garland with lights wrapped around it, and underneath, two fabric stockings (one says “joliet” and the other says “sarah”) on top of red and brown construction paper stripes hanging over a paper cutout of a fire and fire wood.
