Made a beef stew for dinner, accompanied by a Chateauneuf du Pape Vieux Telegraphe 2001, followed by a cheese platter with a goat’s Brie, a Shropshire blue and a Taleggio accompanied by a 1991 Niepoort Vintage port, ending with an espresso and Hennessy VSOP cognac 🤤

A mate sent me an article about the health hazard of fructose. Problem with a lot of advice on a healthy diet is it kind of takes the joy and pleasure out of eating and drinking. Case of forgoing some of the pleasures of life for a longer and healthier life. No guarantees however

My daughter trying to persuade her boyfriend that he’d look good in a flat tweed cap. He’s not looking all that enthusiastic, at which point my daughter says “well my dad wears them”! Not sure that’s the way to sell the idea to him
