Sometimes the veil thins just enough to see the other side. It was a year ago, on what would be our last full day. I heard her chuffing in her sleep, but what I saw was this- flecks of dust in the breeze reflecting the midday sun, making her sparkle softly like a spirit slowly fading into the ever.

Life hits you like a truck. Just had to let Page go for a sudden heart issue. He had started throwing blood clots & was suffering. I held him in my arms as he went to sleep. I did the best I could with him, but he deserved so much better. I love you, little man. Find Bella. Scooter, be nice to him.

It’s this one that I took while she was sleeping peacefully next to me, with her cancer having grown to the point that she looks pregnant. The Meta ai has changed it to her in a pixel-art style underwater area with fish & butterflies?, and keeps serving it up to me in a “Would you like to use this?”
