I genuinely think this is done without Schumers approval but
1. The fact there is doubt in that is bad and honestly there is reason for that
2. It is still bad that this happened under his watch!

The question basically is will this be the thing that make a bunch of partisans become burnt out accelerationists or not, and honestly, it is very hard to say in my opinion

If the house dems and the dems that vote no do a big show of slowing this down and yelling at the cavers, alongside a ousting of Schumer, then more primary is my guess but honestly, is hard to predict

The honest question is will this make people angry and want to primary the bad dems out and help change it. Or will it make people angry and despair and wonder what even is the point of the dems.
I don't know the answer to that question, probably a mixture?

And a year is a long time, Trump and the republicans will do something to force our attention to them.

Yep! I will say that it looks like the primary them all movement is gaining traction and support, which is a good thing? Indivisible seems to now be calling for it and they have a lot of organisational muscle

There has been talk about that, if it does, good! If not then again it sucks

I will be honest here, I don't particularly care if leadership supported it or not.
They let it happen in either case and need to go, what's next doesn't really change if they supported it or not

I will say that to me this feels more like a defection that is not supported by leadership then something that is supported, I feel like if it was supported by leadership there are better votes to use? So I do think it is a small group of traitors.
But we can't know

The test is a Schumer leadership vote in my opinion
Even if he didn't support this cave, which is maybe possible but I honestly can't know, he failed in his job of preventing the cave. So time for new leadership and see who votes no.
But...yeah this shit sucks and sucks hard

There is blood in the water now. I honestly think I am up to primary every single one.

I am so angry.
And to be completely frank, it is hard to just direct that anger at the defactors because it feels like maybe there was support for this from leadership, or not! It is hard to know and trust them at this point and....
It is just alot, particulalry after what felt like a win

I do genuinely think this is some kind of rebellion that is voting for this but to be frank it is hard to know for certain and I don't blame people who just don't believe Chuck and thinks he was involved somehow
Either way he needs to go, he failed to keep the caucus together

I think a good test is a leadership vote, get ride of Schumer or get primaried, and it seems Indivisible is throwing support behind primaries, which will add some real heft

Either way this is a leadership fail, that's the simple fact of it.

It is either stragetic voting on their part to provide cover for more vulnerable dems, or this is truly a wild card turncoat. I don't know which and I honestly is getting harder to care

That makes me feel slightly better atleast? The fact that it is basically a small group of traitors over a actual decision by the leadership

I do not get this, we just had a big victory, why are they dropping now? Are they thinking people won't be angry by the mid terms? Is that it?

It is either outright idiocy where they somehow believe republicans and they are outright stuges
Or, now that the main benefit has come in terms of the election, they morally think it is right to resume government to start things up again, which is wrong and dumb and probably too much credit

I am trying to understand the logic here, I really am.
They won! It was working to keep support up and wasn't hurting you, so why the cave? What benefit do you think you are going to get?

I get why they make the choice, even if you think they could do more work remaining, if their successor was already chosen, resigning in of itself can be a signal
Beyond that...I do not blame someone who has a replacement ready, to want to leave the corruption, it eats at the soul
