*Clarify: my cousin described being part of a unit that cleared at least one, maybe more, though he was against it. And what originally brought me to this post: the radio transmissions are accurate. Our family’s Arab neighbors - whom they were v close with- fled because of those radio warnings.

You assume a lot about me and what I do or absolutely DO NOT support based on my correction of your inaccurate post. Tho there were some pockets of peaceful coexistence no serious historian would make the sweeping claim that Arabs and Jews were living peacefully in the ME prior to Zionism.

The Israeli branch of my family goes has been there at least 130 yrs. My cousin fought in 1948 and described clearing out Palestinian villages. Why do you assume I haven’t read most of those authors already? Even they know and write about Safed, Allahdad, Jaffa and the dhimmi laws across the ME.

Their villages could be and were looted and the women raped at the whims of the Arabs. I swear, this is the type of person who'd walk through Tulsa in 1921 and declare that the black communities were nice and "secure" and everyone was getting along just fine 🙄

Jews (& Christians) were NOT secure. I hate even responding due to the lack of historical knowledge this post belies. They were enslaved, not allowed to buy property, not allowed to ride horses or wear shoes or conduct business due to their diimmi status. Exiled and banned from entire regions.
