Jamaica Bay Inn workers voted to unionize with Local 11 in 2024. Since then, workers say they've been seeking a constructive path forward with the hotel owners to secure a first contract that reflects dignity, respect & stability for the people who keep the hotel running every day.

Nonviolent civil disobedience is an effective strategy for social change. That's why Local 11 partnered with groups in Phoenix and Tucson as well as in Los Angeles and helped more people learn these transformative skills. Looking forward to more in 2026.
