Apparently in 1995, the ship's bell was recovered in a specially authorized mission (since the wreck is a grave site). In addition to the ceremony at the Mariner's Church in Detroit, there is a roll call ceremony at the shipwreck museum on Whitefish Point using the original ship's bell
