Scannell’s Whitebeam, named after the great Irish botanist Maura Scannell, is one of the rarest tree species in the world. Endemic to Ross Island, Killarney, it has 5 known plants, only 1 mature adult, and is registered as critically endangered by the IUCN. #Ireland #biodiversity #forestry #botany
