I maintain that one of the reasons this administration is so pro-AI is that they’re planning to “Weekend at Bernie’s” the rest of the term once the passage of time does its job.

I had a coworker with a 2 hour commute that had one of these. It got a new frame (!) under a recall.

The company strongly encouraged him to just buy something new but he basically got a frame up rebuild on the company dime for a 300k mile truck

I don’t know what kills these in places without rust.

The people demand a truck that nobody will buy!

The Maverick is also the universal defense to the “we should drive kei trucks in the US” people. It’s cleaner and more efficient than a given kei truck, highway capable, and not a death sentence in a crash over 15mph!

I’ve parked our Maverick next to old Rangers and while the current Ranger is bigger, you absolutely can buy a modern iteration of what the old Ranger was, it’s just called something else now.

Also imagine the wacky compliance models we’d see. An F150 with a 1.6 liter engine! Escalades that only ship with three wheels so it’s not technically a car!

Not that it would ever happen here but I’m a big fan of varying license levels depending on engine displacement/power. They already kind of do it with motorcycles though only for below/above 50cc, so anyone that learned on a Nighthawk 250 can still hop on a 180 mph GSX-R…
