I rode across USA (WA 2 VA) in 2001 & again in 2023 (WA 2 NH). Drivers more dangerous now, more aggressive. They didn’t roll coal in 2001, now it’s very much a thing. We did have more stuff thrown at us in ‘01 so I guess that’s an improvement.

I’m sorry, but there’s no way he wrote that. It smells like him, but the thoughts are organized (no tangents), everything is spelled correctly, and doesn’t feel rushed like he was writing it on the toilet… He may have dictated it to someone who cleaned it up but he auto penned that sucker

Path/lane may not be maintained as well as road, ie overgrown shrubs, shredded tires, broken glass, frost heaves, etc. Dedicated paths in summer might be packed w/ people (kids,dogs,strollers) or set off the road & meander thru woods, inconsistent grade. Speed limits are too low on multi-use
