The question becomes an answer if you replace "and yet" with "because".

I had figured we got the expression from the States.

"Misuse" can maybe work as an excuse for a fatality while using a chainsaw. It doesn't work as well when the tool in question is a chatbot.

That sounds like a problem with how the economy is being structured, not a problem with the people using the devices.

But that's all just off the top of my head -- no research. So take it with a large grain of salt.

This higher-frequency buzz is more likely to blend in with the sound than the 26.16Hz buzz when the two notes were close together. When the notes are over an octave apart, the buzz will be similar in frequency to the lower note, but when they're close together, it won't be similar to either of them.
November 24, 2025 at 8:14 PM
So A at 440 Hz and A at 880Hz will have beats at 440Hz -- but that reinforces the sound, so it doesn't have that dissonant buzz.

And if the notes are further apart, the frequency of the dissonant beat changes. A at 440Hz + A# at 932.33 Hz (13 semitones up) have a buzz of 492.33. (continued...)
November 24, 2025 at 8:12 PM
So a note at 440 Hz and a note at 466.16 Hz (A above Middle C and the A# above that) will have a beat around 26.16 Hz, which makes the the dissonant minor second sound harsh and buzzy.

Notes that harmonize also have these beats, but the beats line up with the waves already. (continued...)
November 24, 2025 at 8:10 PM
This isn't necessarily correct, but from my understanding: dissonance manifests as a "beat" in the sound caused by the interference of the waves of the two notes in question, and the frequency of the beats has to do with the difference in the frequencies of the notes. (continued...)

I take it McClain has never served, or else she'd know that that's not the oath that they take.

A *lot* of the US's problems come from never carrying through with addressing bad stuff that just happened. Reconstruction being a big example, but the fact that so many people got away with what they did under Nixon, Reagan, Bush, etc is the same thing on a smaller scale.

Shaped *and* sized. Tzoq's not a very big panther.

I did do the graphic design! I'm looking forward to seeing the film. I might even be in it -- they interviewed me for it.

Fun fact: if opposing the President is a capital crime, then Trump should have been executed several times during Biden's administration.

Tribbles are far more appealing than whatever's on that guy's head.

And far less destructive than that guy.

To be fair, this also happened back when 3.5" floppies were state of the art.

How many non-conservative accounts does he know?

Sounds charming...

Are we sure it was a real person? I've seen an almost identical post about wild animals. Maybe a new bot?

The flip side of "man bites dog"
November 13, 2025 at 1:30 AM
But didn't you see? The posted the DoorDash State of Local Commerce report. Surely that's just as good.

Can't wait for the Uber report on public transit.
