This goes both ways. My parents thought I was rich because I was making 32k 20 years ago straight out of college. They couldn't understand why couldn't afford a house because they did when they made less money in the early 80s.

Mine was same movie for different reason. Last next to me came back from concessions with a massive amount of candy, pulled out her insulin, rolled up her shirt, and shot up before the show. She housed the candy in the first 30 minutes
