This is Maya, one of the bosses from my upcoming game Typhoon Unit! She's a siren who's part-time rockstar, part-time assassin-for-hire. Love my fish girl blorbo 🐟

Thanks for sticking with me. I really do appreciate it. Again, happy 2026. Let's all survive, and let's all thrive.

One of my goals for this year is to be better about posting progress updates, works-in-progress, basically anything. It's a little harder now that most of the progress is happening on the back half of TU's story mode, but I'll try to have more to show.

So what does all this mean? It means I'm not dead. It means Typhoon Unit isn't dead. And after a rough 2025, we take those small victories.

I've also picked up another side-project (just me this time) that I'm working on when I don't feel like drawing. I've been playing a lot of Sonic Adventure 1 lately, and I want to try my hand at something in a similar gameplay style. Not far enough along to share much yet, but yeah.

Since about August I've been slowly chipping away at the story cutscenes. The one for the end of Ch 4 is in especially good shape. At this point I know better than to give a release window, but the game is at least moving forward again.

The time away was important though, because I was able to start making progress on Typhoon Unit again. None of my other problems were being solved, but at least I could do that.

So I took a break from Typhoon Unit for a few months. Recruited a friend and decided to work on a completely different game. It was fun and exciting for a while, but due to conflicts in vision, we never got much past pre-production. It also felt like I was just running from my problems.

So I've been kind of burnt out for... most of last year. The world's not been great. Personal life has been pretty stagnant and lonely. Game dev felt like I was running in place. Working on Typhoon Unit was starting to feel like nothing would ever be good enough.
