Loving my GL.iNet Beryl AX travel router. It makes family trips way easier. Everyone connects to one router I trust, and I tunnel traffic back home for adblock, etc. Then it uses hotel Wi‑Fi (WAN) or my phone hotspot.

Irony alert.. a tech magazine got pwned. I break down the data, the real risks (phishing, doxing, credential reuse), and the step-by-step fixes you should do today. What’s the first move you make after a breach notice?

I thought about doing video but changed my mind after one edit session. Too much other crap too worry about. I’m an audio only guy.

Video? Ain’t nobody got time for that!
‘Painful to hear!’ How podcasts’ rush to video is turning them into dreadful listens
From Joe Marler’s visual-only stunts to the incomprehensible shuffling sounds Steven Bartlett recently subjected headphone users to, dodgy audio experiences are on the rise

Monday’s episode is about surveillance and security failures. Cameras that can zoom and track people were left reachable from the open internet. No login. No friction. Just voyeurism at scale.

I’ve been thinking about ditching Apple Music and going back to buying CDs and ripping them into my own Plex library for Plexamp or using Rockbox on an old iPad. I don’t think I’d venture back to cassettes though.

A Colorado windstorm + power outage briefly nudged U.S. official time off by 4.8 microseconds, after a backup generator failed at NIST in Boulder.. tiny for most people, but relevant for high-precision systems.
How a power outage in Colorado caused U.S. official time be 4.8 microseconds off
Officials said the error is likely be too minute for the general public to clock it, but it could affect applications such as critical infrastructure, telecommunications and GPS signals.

Getting dragged by strangers for liking things is exhausting. I’m choosing peace… mute/block fast, don’t debate bad-faith replies, and log off when it spikes. If you’re kind, weird, and here to enjoy stuff.. hi. Let’s be friends.

My youngest is on a paper airplane kick, so our house is now an active runway. I just found one BEHIND the laundry detergent in the laundry closet. How did it get there? Was there a connecting flight? Did it have a tiny boarding pass??

Chasing random SSH drops on a Linux VM with strict UFW/iptables, I found the VM wasn't pingable. The DHCP server assumed the IP was free, giving it to another host. MTR exposed an IP conflict due to blocked ICMP, not a DHCP bug.
