Do you think studios hire specific directors and greenlight BAD movies on purpose so that audiences will appreciate everything else more?
Example: Paul WS Anderson movies. You look at his filmography and there’s nothing of notable brilliance. Just lots of “guilty pleasures.”

Just finished DARK DISCIPLE. Pretty crazy to see some ideas dropped in this story that went on to become larger themes in both THE LAST JEDI and BATTLEFRONT II a year later.
This was a great story. Between this and LOST STARS, Star Wars truly shines when there’s romance.

Though the act didn't end "Sunny" like Mac hoped for, the pressure was gone. Broken, God - in the form of a beautiful dance parter - cradles him, assuring Mac that everything is OK. Now that both of his fears have been revealed, coming out and his acceptance from God, Mac find his real strength.

We see the epitome of physical man externally, but stuck in the pits of lonliness, confusion, and weakness on the inside. Frank, through a very on-brand grotesque display, throws down some real knowledge: basically, you have to drain the wound, relieve the pressure, before it can heal.

So after a few seasons of Mac diving deeper into his new lifestyle, his religious guilt was brewing between the lines. You can feel the trauma(s) deep down, though they never fully make a subject out of it. You just know its there. Mac has been lost his whole life - lost to himself and his family.

My wife and I took another dive and finally got the Sunny bug. Horrible people with little to know redemption, but self aware enough to know that that is very much the point. So when Mac fully admitted to being gay on the cruise in a 180 that happened in the blink of of eye, it was funny.

So years ago, after a few attempts of watching It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, I saw this clip. This was not the show I had tried to watch a few times. The beauty of this clip blew me away. And besides the "dad, i'm gay" admission, i didn't really know what I was watching. What got us here?

A brilliant and dazzling film overshadowed by the “too dark for Disney” impression it left. RETURN TO OZ captures a creep factor that only a kids movie from the 80’s could achieve but also captures seemingly infinite beauty and just the right mixture of genius and magic.

Imagine being in the Andor-verse and some 19 year old Outer Rim brat jumps off a trash freighter that just landed, gets handed an X-Wing slot since the previous Red 5 got blown up a couple days before, and destroys the ultimate super weapon with a one-in-a-million shot. WHO THE @#$% IS THIS KID?!?!
