I think this comment summarizes what I suspected really well. Weirdly Toei hastily chopping her out of an episode helped convince me that they were suddenly forced to do this and if they had things their way they’d prefer to release the episodes that they already shot and edited.

It sounds like Toei is making the right moves legally, but it still feels like injustice is being done to Maya and everyone who worked on this season.

I meant from the tabloid stuff that started a few months ago.

Toei should have protected her, but they are a business and I cannot imagine them being so upset at a drinking scandal that they’d butcher their own show and spend tons of money on re-editing and re-shooting unless they had a legal obligation to do so.

2. The only confirmed action is under age drinking. She’s been the victim of tabloids attacking her because she’s half-Filipino. Shukan Bunshun has spread lies about her ever since she joined Gozyuger.
3. Her agency supposedly demanded her removal from all future episodes.

Also of the 3 movies from the 90s it’s the best microcosm of Kamen Rider as a whole. Shin goes way too hard on the horror and J is the only one that grows giant, but Zo hit the sweet spot of having a standard Rider arc in just 45 minutes.

This one is Kamen Rider Zo, it’s one of three movies that aired in the 90s when the series was “cancelled” until its revival in 2000 with Kamen Rider Kuuga. Also the movie is free on Youtube:

Geats is a pretty great entry point for “modern” rider but Kuuga will give you a great idea of what Rider was like in the 2000s.

Also Zeztz, the current season, is simulcasting subbed on that channel!

Geats is also one of my favorites for it’s spectacle and aura farming, Kuuga still has that but with more practical effects. It came out in 2000 so they were still getting used to CGI but when it matters it’s almost entirely practical effects.
