@marchsoloway.bsky.social If the first 6 pages of my manuscript are prologue, and vital to the story as a whole, should I include them in my first 10 pages for querying purposes or omit them entirely? Also, does maximalist prose have a place in today's publishing landscape?

Draft 1 of the next novel was finished in December (I'm late to posting this...). Draft 2.1 and 2.2 have followed suit... Will be visiting many query trenches soon!

The rightwing response to the murder of Alex Pretti is predictable: to outshout and talk over anyone taking another position. The shrillness on Twitter is especially grating, but again, not surprising. It's Orwell's doublespeak. If the man had a cell phone instead of a gun, yell louder.
