The smartest thing the Trump team did was pick Vance as the Veep. I can easily imagine a senator voting against impeachment of Trump because it would elevate Vance to President

An ICE agent needs to be convicted of state crimes. At that point many ICE agents will realize that the White House will flush them down the toilet when they become inconvenient. Perhaps that will make them more respectful of the law.
