Indeed! The only way is up (for the next 6 months, anyway 😸)!

I very rarely get to see the sunset where I live - there are only sunrises to admire from my home. But I caught the first sunset this year while holidaying in Szczecinek, and the second one recently is reflected in a new hotel that’s been built a couple of blocks away so I ‘saw’ the sunset that way😺

Very relaxing 😺

That’s much earlier than where I live - we rarely get anything before mid-March, although as the climate’s changing, you never know …

The gentle fluting song of the Robin aroused me from my sleep this morning, but the #FirstBirdOfMyDay that I spied was a large group of Mute Swans on the riverbank opposite 😺

Very sensible!

You’d have probably suffocated in that newer build! Terribly shoddy stuff, sadly. When it gets really hot we wash sheets in cold water then hang them out to dry with a fan behind them. That does the trick! Luckily it’s rarely hot for long although we did get 40C on the balcony a few times.

It’s no wonder it took so long to release them with all that ‘covering up’ they had to do.
December 20, 2025 at 2:23 PM
It’s those small connections that keep me going 😺

Indeed!

Very different vibe! Enjoy your weekend too! 😺

We had a fantastic Golden Polish Autumn, as they say in these parts. Our beech forests didn’t disappoint! The first two pictures are from Szczecin in the north, while the second two are from Lower Silesia, in the south west.

LOL you beat me on the Wordle for sure but I also scraped in on Le Mot - those damned plurals always confuse!

Nothing says ‘cover up’ more than ‘cover up’!
December 20, 2025 at 8:06 AM
Ooh! 👍😸 Now show us Le Mot 😹
December 20, 2025 at 8:05 AM
Ooh! How welcome is that? May you have lots more this winter season!
December 20, 2025 at 8:03 AM
How lovely! As usual, slightly less romantic here as the Gulls swoop in on a very grey day to the Sparrow chorus 😹 #FirstBirdOfMyDay

Indeed! In the words of the great Obélix, ‘I’m not fat! My chest has just slipped a bit!’ 😸

Over the past 15 years 😹

I think I’m on number 2 😹

Unfortunately I think most modern developers are on the ‘profit first and only’ model, which means residents are on their own. If you can afford air conditioning, well done you! I’m hoping that when we build our summer house we’ll get it insulated properly. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Very good! They get better and better the further you go down the list 😹

You’d know GD because it always involved a ridiculously ambitious project in a muddy field and a house that grew to the size of a palace cut into a hillside. But I suppose that was the point! It would have been called Modest Homes if it had involved bungalows 😹
