Hello. To those of you who don't know me, I'm Toby. I'm a gay autistic lad from Chesterfield, UK. I play a variety of instruments, but mainly trombone (in three brass bands). I play cricket during summer and I ring church bells. I love drawing and writing poetry, and animals are my friends.

It's so easy for someone that doesn't understand how AuDHD stuff affects me to just assume I'm always in the right headspace to go out safely on my motorbike at any time (assuming nice weather). Putting pressure on me will make things worse, too, as I don't respond well to that.

If you see a learner motorcyclist on the roads, how about you give them a bit of space and realise that they're not going to be perfect. Stop being an absolute bellend and trying to intimidate them. Intimidating someone that's nervous and inexperienced is going to end badly.

I got asked earlier if I'm old enough to do my full category A motorcycle licence yet. I'm 34, and you have to be 24 for the direct access scheme. Thank you, human 😁

I know that not everyone is a fan of the HD Sunflower lanyards, but I was very impressed with how patient the gents were in the Tesco petrol station I visited today. It was my first time using a fuel pump, and to make it more difficult, I was using a 5L can at a pump with a minimum 5L delivery.

My phone had a notification saying, "Great job staying active today!" I, of course, misread it and thought it had congratulated me on staying alive today, which I thought was a bit patronising. 😆

If someone has support needs, tell them what you're doing rather than just doing it. It's meant to be help with doing things and showing how to do it, not just doing it for them. That's part of why I don't understand how to do some things, because my parents never involved me. #autistic

So much for my parents telling me my brother would be home at 1530. He got home about 1435, just as I was doing trombone practice. He gets annoyed when I practice, even with a practice mute. I think he's jealous that I'm a better musician. Maybe if he practised, it'd help.

Why do people leave water all over the kitchen or bathroom floor and not clean it up? As usual, I had to step over a puddle and loads of splatter on the kitchen floor earlier, and Mom's suggestion was: "You can mop it 'n..." 'N what? Why should I mop up other peoples' mess?

What a fantastic day! Me and one of my bands were at a contest today ... and we won! I'm so proud of this band, and we're really building something special right now. It's especially impressive after what happened with the devastating floods last year. Great things are coming!

An enjoyable short walk today. I befriended horses, a dog, and a barnful of cows. I also saw a huge murmuration of starlings, and I got to talk to my very first boycrush for the first time in about 30 years. Farmer Tom is still cute, but he didn't seem in the best mood, so I left him to his work.

Another day, another occasion of my brother getting angry at me, storming off from the dining table, slamming the door and stomping up the stairs because I spoke and was about to offer my thoughts on something; it's only he and my parents that are allowed to speak, apparently. 🧵
