At the time, there was scuttlebutt (dunno how true) that none of the Allies wanted their base next to the Americans' because they had such a bad reputation for friendly fire.

I went to school in the States and am no stranger to this approach but I can't say it *means* anything to me. I can estimate vs a block of butter (1lb) or myself (150lb) but over 300 is meaningless. I remember more comparisons to school buses and/or African elephants for large quantities of size.

Mix a little chilli powder with your birdseed and the squirrels, who can taste it, will leave it for the birds, who can't. I've been doing this for a few months now and I haven't seen a single squirrel on my feeders, or even in my garden. Also works on fat balls.
