What about extension novels? Joe Ide’s version of Philip Marlowe in The Goodbye Coast is interesting because he’s more than simply modernised. Similarly, Kim Sherwood’s recent Bond series without Bond

This is all so new that sustainability question is only now an issue. The British Electorate rejected proportional representation in 2014(ish) & that seemed to be that. A bunch of factors — collapse of Lib Dems in 2015; rise of RFM on right and greens on left — might make it a savvy issue to revisit
