I can tell you most Christian denominations that have addressed this have said LDS folk have not received Christian baptism. Therefore, we offer converting LDS folk Christian baptism, not rebaptism. United Methodists and the LDS agreed that they do not recognize each other's baptisms as Christian.

Whence this graph? And how are cases even being counted now that the CDC is tracking data only via wastewater now, which they say may (not does) predict risk, not actual case counts?

When you've spent a lot of money to get a bigger piece of land and then to get some kind of utilities connected to it, well, you're likely to defend this as better. Even if it's not. Sort of El Mystico and Janet Sketch in reverse: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ujR...
Usage certainly connects them in American English. I don't think it does in the same way in other languages. Other English speakers tend to use physician or surgeon rather than doctor for an MD.

Etymologically, there is no association of doctor (from the Latin, docere, to teach) and the Latin and Greek words for healing. A doctor is someone deemed qualified to teach something-- whatever that something may be. A healer (from the Greek therapeuein) is someone who attends to another.

ELCA Lutheran here-- I think the categories are a bit off. Our brand of Lutheran would be very similar to Anglican under his criteria, and so "Cathodox" as well. We have bishops, weekly sacraments, even saints days. We just don't pray to saints (as is also true of Anglicans generally).

BTW, for this Ordinary Time (when the practice of my congregation is to use the Apostles Creed) we're saying "resurrection of flesh" and not "the resurrection of the body." We'll probably retain that.

It's not "the resurrection of the body." It's more radical (clearly anti-gnostic!)-- resurrection of flesh (no articles -- sarkos anastasin). Resurrection is not resuscitation. It is new creation. And that flesh is resurrected points in two directions: pro-flesh, and ALL flesh, not just humans.

Yes. There are plenty of other occasions for sharing other kinds of stories about the deceased. The funeral is not the venue for this. Its focus is steadfastly on the proclaiming the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ground of the hope for all of us (and all things!) and each of us.

Typical response from those who left to go to a more traditionalist body or start one. United Methodists, Evangelical Lutherans, and Presbyterians in PCUSA get similar kinds of comments from those who exited to do their own more traditionalist thing. Guess it's not enough just to leave.
