Are we only talking car races? I’d offer the various air races of the 1930s were pretty sicko, especially the Thompson Trophy and the Schneider Trophy.

FWIW, I looked at photos of NASA’s Saturn V crawler tracks for color inspiration. Helpful bc they are large and the various colors can be seen in the track components.

The article has problems, but part of the reason we’re in this culture war is on display in the comments here. Suffering loss (of career, privilege, etc) is still suffering - dunking on them and saying “good!” engenders resentment. We can be progressive and compassionate. “Just Transition”, right?

Conduction, convection, and radiation are the only ways to move heat (without esoteric modes). In space, the first two are out - no physical material or fluid to move the heat into. Radiation is dependent on surface area. And that’s the rub.

Hahahaha! I just wrote a note to myself that all traffic laws don’t apply to me, and I’m the final adjudicator of traffic laws for everyone else. So there!
