Americans might not want this but obviously don't think it's worth fighting for or there would be protests like in other places. To the rest of the world it's like being poor and seeing a spoiled brat inherit a fortune just to waste it all thinking it will never end because they are someone special.

This is what you get when the rich has no reason to fear the people. America won't change until poverty gets to a much more severe level, probably not in a decade or so. And the responsibility really lies on the people.

From his perspective he should pardon her. It will further cement his absolute power and being above the law, and the American people's acceptance without pushing back will further reinforce the sense of shameful weakness - making future resistance unlikely. Good preparation for staying on in 2028.

Depressingly this the only thing that can have an impact on Trump and GOP. Sadly he has been quite successful: the bill went through, deals regarding the tariffs are in place and the deportations are going on with promised cruelty.

The Chinese ones are so good and cheap (6k) that it's scary - look up the company Unitree Robots. It will soon be common to see these things outside the US (which of course will create some trade barrier just like with EVs).

People still haven't learned. When it comes to values and principles vs Trump, the American people will go for Trump. Unions don't have a chance. Law, democracy and even common decency - the People will chose Trump. It's embarrassing but after all this time undeniable.

There will be some bombing, threats of invasion of some county, nationalization of Tesla - whatever and it will be all forgotten. The repetitiveness of the US reality show is truly numbing. No one cares anymore.

The GOP has far more support than the Nazis had 33 and the german opposition (socialists and communists) fought hard and makes the Dems look like weak useless cowards in comparison.
But the US will not become Nazi Germany, not because of lack of wanting but lack of competence.

No one is fighting for anything. People won't even fight to keep their own medicaid or to stop having their friends and neighbors arrested and deported. Fight to get money out of politics - not happening. If Elon's money is used to create a third party, fine by me, anything is better than this.

He is unfortunately the only one capable of putting up that kind of money. A third party without the support of any of the ruling class will go nowhere.
