Ah yeah, seeing people post articles now that the placeholder stuff had also happened back in 2022- before the AI disaster was really unfolding, and it was just "well, hey, new tech" . From what I know about the company they probably wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole by now

Short version b/c I'm having to post this like 5 places: they used it for some placeholder assets during development that all got replaced with handmade stuff before release (other than some posters on walls at the start which was a mistake and got removed on Patch 1)

From what I know, they used gen AI for some temporary placeholder assets during development and it was all replaced by handmade content before release (apart from one mistake that got into release edition, and was removed in the first patch)
