Incredible views at the theatre of Epidaurus, famed for its amazing acoustics - thanks to clever design, you can even hear a coin drop on stage from the top row #archaeologybluesky #ancientbluesky #greece 🏺🎭

I was somewhere between B and C too. According to the museum, choosing C partly makes you a deontologist…:

This #mosaicmonday, check out the work of Southbank Mosaics (now London School of Mosaic) a non for profit that combined working with vulnerable young people with transforming public space through art. I used to volunteer with them (10 years ago now!) and they’re amazing! www.lsomosaic.com/history

A highlight at the Benaki is the new exhibition: ‘Africa amongst us*’, which presents objects mainly from Nigeria, Cameroon and Kenya through the experiences of the Afro Greek community in Athens. Important questions about Greekness, blackness and racism #archaeologybluesky #blackhistorymonth 🏺

The Benaki Museum in Athens has some great exhibitions on currently! ‘Ghika: a journey from west to east’ follows the artist’s travels through his artwork. There are also lots of references to his muse, travel partner and future wife, Barbara Warner!

I recently went to the Museum of Modern Greek Culture and it is a lovely space! Beautiful, engaging displays on everyday Greek life, combined with traditional architecture and archaeology - Roman walls, Christian basilica, Ottoman houses. Worth a visit if you’re in the centre of Athens! #museums 🏺

This was such a cool exhibition about Vrysaki - the neighbourhood expropriated for the Agora excavations - and its industry, architecture, people, and daily life. The exhibition has just finished but you can watch Sylvie Dumont, its curator, talking about it here: www.ascsa.edu.gr/events/detai...

The Archaeological Museum at Piraeus has an amazing gallery of some of the few surviving ancient Greek bronze (copper alloy) statues, found in Piraeus harbour in 1959. Here is an archaic-style Apollo - his identification, place of manufacture, and function remain up for interpretation…🏺
