that's good. a pair of barred owls a few years ago had a tough time with every body coming to see them. i learned about them much later in season-and people did not recognize defensive behavior even after i explained it; i left

sounds like it! never managed to see when they appeared in MD - now that i am retired, should have more flexibility. but people go nuts so i also do not want to stress the owls. will never report owl sightings to e-bird.
