Some mornings I wake up and parts of my body have chosen violence. Today it's my eyes. I would worry, but y'know, it happens often. Rather like I have the phrase "my usual quota of dizzy spells" and this is something my GP understands as being a thing.

Drafting novels has become difficult of late. I used to be a happy pantser--leap in, and trust that my subconscious knew where I was going (and it did). I developed a habit of just-in-time plotting, where I'd plan out the next few chapters, have a guideline, and that kept me on track.

Writing is fun. Something that makes no sense and seems insurmountable one day can be two new sentences, a deleted paragraph, and tweaked phrasing on another day.

That said, I am still waiting for plotting to become easy. And I would like it if things spent more time being easy than insurmountable

Just found out that the Brooklyn Public Library has added my book Commit to the Kick to Libby. Woohoo! So if you have a card (and if you're in New York State you can GET a card!), you can now read my book for free AND support the public library system!

There are still so many things on my to do list for the weekend and I have utterly run out of steam to do any of them. I feel like I shouldn’t take a break and at the same time, it’s the weekend so I really really should get to have one right?

New glasses—much bigger and I love them. New shirt—so soft! Mostly new haircut—very chaos curl and colorful.

We’ve had new kids join the teen/adult class this week, and right now the kids outnumber the adults by a LOT. Which means so much more cardio during warmup and we’ve sparred two days in a row! This is how I stay sane and stay young… #taekwondo

Had to use my husband's home office today with its clicky-clack keyboard. Hated it when I started. Weirdly getting used to it. I could move back to my (quieter) own home office now, and yet... I might miss the clicky-clack.

Our latest novelette, The Agony of Authenticity by Lyn Weaver, is an eerie explicit m/m guro story about two men with a long-nurtured rivalry and what happens when the deceptions between them finally fall away.

While at Rhinebeck, I bought the Halloween advent calendar from Hundred Ravens. I love it. I am probably going to fail my willpower roll and buy my first holiday advent calendar from them, too. The tab is open and waiting for me to do it.

Okay, this is really cool. Bowhead whales have a gene that humans also have, but theirs is better at fixing damaged DNA. Gift article link below.

Life Lessons from (Very Old) Bowhead Whales
A gene that helped bowheads adapt to frigid Arctic waters also granted them extraordinary longevity. Could it help aging humans become more resilient?

Even when working from home, my basement office only comes in two temperatures: too cold and too warm. And here I control the heat! You'd think it'd be better...

Not affiliated in any way, just a fan. Saratoga Peanut Butter Company has the most delicious peanut butter. Their seasonal Pumpkin Pandemonium is highly spiced and utterly wonderful in a PB&J. I buy it at the farmer's market, but yes, they ship. I am seriously looking forward to my lunch.

My brain is ping-ponging all over the place today, making it very difficult to settle down and post something. Say anything. I swear, I took my ADHD meds, and yet, I do not at all feel as if I did. My train of thought derailed before I even got out of bed, I swear. #ADHDlife

I prefer summer with going barefoot or wearing sandals, but at least when it gets cold I get to wear boots and hand knit socks.

Today I remembered to bring the correct notebooks. Hopefully I will manage to get some time to work on the required brainstorming between day job and taekwondo!

The sky was so beautiful this morning when I walked across campus to my office.

I cleaned my stainless steel travel mugs yesterday and they are SO SHINY. I always forget what color they are supposed to be on the inside, because tea stains them so swiftly.

Today is a work from home day, with a massage after the day job hours end. But also, how have six weeks passed since my last massage? Time. It's a very fast-flowing illusion these days.

Scraped together an hour for writing tasks.

Grabbed the notebook I needed and realized... it was not the notebook I needed. The one with all my notes in it.

In fact, I brought two notebooks with me, and neither of them are either of the two notebooks I need.

So much for that plan...

Periodic required fire alarm check was unexpected and a great way to get an in-office wakeup call. I am most definitely AWAKE now.

Am I the only one who goes to grab a single serving bag of Skinny Pop popcorn and gets earwormed by Poison's Unskinny Bop? Just me? Sighs. Okay.

Feeling very accomplished. I have now also finished redoing my bibliography page so it looks a bit nicer and not so busy. Of course, I started this project about a month ago... so... it took me a while?
