i may be misinterpreting this but i'm always taken aback a bit when people say decentralization is a "theoretical" thing because it is very much "what actually makes networks resilient" -- centralization is a single point of failure and decentralization is redundancy

in closing: you can strive for a *more complete* view but you will never have the *complete* view. having a complete view requires everything be public and indexed. that's not something everyone wants. on the flip side we don't per se "tolerate" harassers finding us via search and having no privacy.
