All this said, my fear is that we are again finding a way to systemically deny access to generational wealth to Black and Latinx students, and again using the plight of another oppressed group to rationalize it.

And as we've seen, overqualified Black and Latinx students are denied admissions at higher rates than anyone else. If affirmative action did anything, it forced universities to look at these applicants but it did nothing to make gains, let alone level a playing field. www.vox.com/2016/5/25/11...
White women benefit most from affirmative action — and are among its fiercest opponents
The willingness to erase white women from the story of affirmative action is part of the problem.

And colleges need to stop being so willing to toss students of color under the admissions bus. Data has shown over and over again that the Black and Latinx students have higher GPAs and test scores than their White legacy counterparts. www.bbc.com/news/world-u...

These funds tend to be for medical research, scholarship aid, and alternative housing, things that have nothing to do with the original claim of anti-semitism. In the interview, Greenblatt did not seem remorseful about this harm.

The clear headlines are always about the money with some using a misunderstanding of an endowment to dismiss the claim and others being outraged at the amount being disproportionate to the amount already frozen.

It seems that it is becoming common practice to demand millions, hundreds of millions, and now even a billion dollars from universities in the name of ending anti-semitism. Most recently we see this happening at UCLA: www.latimes.com/california/s...
Trump seeks $1-billion fine against UCLA. Newsom says 'we'll sue,' calling it extortion
The Trump administration has proposed the University of California pay more than $1 billion to settle antisemitism charges and restore frozen grant funding at UCLA. Newsom says the state will sue.
