so there just isn't as much need for these paranoid excavations of "evil amongst us," the evil has just made itself highly obvious, they have flags and slogans and a political party in charge of a country. woke 2 is about power: how do we gain it back and what do we do with it after.

I really enjoyed, in 2019, that it was a period piece set in 2012

This was my thought too. And I would have framed the feedback not as what they did/didn’t do correctly, but a list of five specific things they need to do differently on the next assignment. That way, their feedback sheet more overtly paints them as failing to meet the specific criteria

Our organist was snowed in. He had messaged our priest about it, but our priest didn’t see the message. So, with thirty seconds until service started, I volunteered to sight-read the organ. And it went surprisingly well!

Each one is about 500 words, which is roughly what my class can handle in one sitting. The main plot conflict is that when Jesus chose the 12 Disciples, he chose random other people, meanwhile his childhood friend group had exactly twelve people he could have chosen. So they get mad lol

Moving kids from linear cable to selected streaming is a huge gain imo and its even better if parents are being really selective about the content

Yeah it’s hard for me to say categorically because the Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network slop was useful For Me at the time even though, as an adult, I would probably look back at it and shake my head lol

The boomer take can be true if you compare the best kids shows from a past generation to the worse shows from this generation, i.e. Sesame Street to Blippy, as this article memorably did www.currentaffairs.org/news/2020/08...
The Dead World of Blippi
The loneliness and sterility of children’s “educational” videos in the Trump era.

I saw the rubric, it was 25 points: 10 for showing a clear tie-in to the prompt article, 10 points for a thoughtful reaction or response (and not just summarizing), 5 points for being clearly written.

I would probably give them half credit in each category
