"It's such a gem of a book."
-Sarah Howden
(Okay, she's actually the editor. But still...)

She needs to borrow Shrub's old "Mission Accomplished" banner.

Because I still love it (and so should you).

Two great books that go great together.

Both are beautiful, poetic, and instructive. Both explore big feelings about little creatures.

Author @booksbycindy.bsky.social sees them as companion books and I totally agree.

Congrats! Looks great. Looking forward to it.

I've got a dog book coming out that month, too. Lucky, lucky dog fans.

Hope this one is among them. Because it's the best PB I've ever co-created (and it's the 10th)!

If you see this, post your bird art.

(Well, okay, it's not my art. It's @mikeboldt.bsky.social's art. From our 2015 PB.)

Happy #IReadCanadianDay!

I love these two picture books, and I've met the two Victoria, BC authors. (Haven't met either illustrator.)

Oh, it's #NationalCatDay?

I'll always be super-proud of this picture book by me and @evecoy.bsky.social and Candlewick.

Someone is holding an actual, tangible ARC in their hot little hands.

(Spoiler alert: that someone is me!)

Life is a balancing act.

Take joy in the frogs. But don't forget Epstein. We can do both (and more).

The Rogue addition was momentous. She had an established and well-seeded history as an X-Men adversary, while also being someone who could believably turn. Hard to beat that potent mix with later forced and out-of-the-blue additions.
(Though I did also like the Magneto addition for similar reasons.)

110%.

See also: I can't bother keeping track of any other time Jean got revived after this godawful, wrongheaded, shit-the-bed installment.

It screwed over not only the death itself, but also some great fake-out resurrection stories.

White-hot hate forever and ever.

And ever.

It's Canadian Thanksgiving, and I'm super-thankful for these kind words.

“A charming tribute to the unrelenting and unconditional acceptance a dog gives.”
– Mike Boldt

“We could all stand to learn to love like a dog loves. Kids do it best, and every kid is going to fall for this book.”
– Adam Rex

Two things that my ears and brain have been loving in these troubled times.

Great cover. But the second installment was the better story.

Yes, pretty good, but IMHO this Santa stakeout PB was quite a bit better.

It amazes me that in this age of endless revisits and rehashes, Marvel has never released a version of the seminal 80s Punisher mini wherein @yesthatstevengrant.bsky.social and Mike Zeck complete the final chapter.

(Yes, it also doesn't amaze me at all. Doesn't stop me from yearning, though...)
