When working on your environment, think about the Big, Medium, Small rule.
This helps to visually transition naturally when using things like rubble pile meshes etc...

When using decals in environment art, don't just slap it down and call it a day - use layering to help sell the idea as to why the decal is there in the first place.

1. Base
2. Decal
3. Vertex painting
4. Additional meshes to help blend the decal, such as rocks & grass
