As an enormous fan of the book who’s read it more times than I can count and who was worried about an adaptation, I’m loving the show for all the reasons you say. It’s its own thing, very true to the book in important ways, different in others, but absolutely stands on its own.

I’m sure you’re not taking requests, but if you *were*, I’m sure there’s at least one English-language best-selling wang yibo-related book just waiting to be written.

It grabs you and holds on.

I’ve also seen the Indigo Girls :). Mumford is on my wish list.
