Because they may have their own unprocessed trauma. Because they may be overwhelmed. Because many are raising kids and working. I’m not saying that’s a blanket to excuse bad parenting. But it’s so much more layered than society would have you believe. Are their bad mothers? Yes but not all.

That’s what I’ve heard from countless Moms who came to me for therapy. And they, too, were doing the best they could.

I’ve seen so many moms overwhelmed not just with the task of raising kids but of society judging them. I feel for them.

I’m so sorry. But at some point the person has to decide to do something other than blaming the person who hurt them.
