… this may also relate to how IP was shared within early multinationals — as sister companies, EMI Nigeria likely had access to Regal (NZ)’s art library & reused it… it’s highly unlikely that anyone* in a mid-century record company had concerns about confusing Nigerian visual culture with Māori!
