Ok I restarted the Dungeon Crawler Carl series at Book 1 after finishing Book 5 and immediately, immediately the tone is so different. Book 5 ended in a lot of despair on multiple levels. Survival is coming at great cost and small mistakes incur even more loss.

I finally finished The Butcher's Masquerade from the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. Whew. That was a lot, a lot of everything. I'm taking a break after that one. Lots of emotion. I'm at that point where I think I want to reread the books up to here because tone has understandably changed.

Kaia was the perfect baby at the vet lol everyone loves my cats at the vet. She's doing well with her at home treatments! She only gives me a minor side eye when it's time for medicine lol. We're going to check on progress after six months, fingers crossed!

Leaving your cat at the vet for a whole day is the worst. Like is my baby ok. Is she warm enough. Is anyone fawning over her properly. I'm sure she's mad even though and especially because I drugged her and took her to the terrible medicine place

Also am a few chapters into the Butcher's Masquerade/Dungeon Crawler Book 5. I got my wish from 13 days ago when I was wanting things more Carl and Donut centric lol. And we are definitely starting to see the toll of the dungeon on our fav characters.

Whew!!! I just finished Gate of the Feral Gods, aka Dungeon Crawler Carl book 4. That...that was a lot. That was a LOT. Also Carl is definitely bat shit crazy at this point. I also want more Donut development.

I went to read the Goodreads review for The Inheritance by Ilona Andres and thank God there are tons of ppl saying "Solo Leveling" as well as the Innkeeper Easter egg. Ppl are also saying litrpg, and since I'm reading Dungeon Crawler Carl, this also tracks hardcore.

Alright, third Dungeon Crawler Carl book finished. It was complicated lol, was hard to keep track of what was happening and specifically where. That said I think the complications made you focus more on the interactions and the smaller details. This is honestly some really fun world building.

Finished Book 2 of the dungeon crawler Carl series. I'm glad they shook it up to be more story driven, with mysteries and foreshadowing, character development, etc. I'm extremely curious for how all the little tidbits are gonna come into play later.

I finished Dungeon Crawler Carl and I definitely enjoyed it. The premise would get super old if not for the little mysteries there are to solve because the main characters have to live so you're not worried yet that the MCs will keel over. But obviously there will be some trauma in the future 😬

That said, I'm reading/rereading classics and older stories that I've enjoyed over the years. Just am burnt out on a lot of the newer writing, though I have a few tbr books that are promising. I just need some palate cleansing and a little research

I've gone back to reading Amethysts & Alchemy with the hope that it would get better for me or that I could ignore the terrible romance and....yeah I'm having a hard time lol 🙃 I so desperately want to read this book with the MMC just edited out completely lol

So I read the Inheritance by Ilona Andrews yesterday and I still have some of the initial thoughts that I had when I read the online serial -- it has some things that I suspected were going on ( I won't spoil it) but simply because of this detail, I have to keep reading the series.
